Overview of Cave Creek
Nestled between the metropolis of Phoenix and the beauty of Tonto National Forest, the town of Cave Creek, AZ is one the fastest-growing communities in the Southwest. Despite Cave Creek being a prosperous community, it is surprisingly affordable. The cost of living index here is more than 9 points below the national average, showing that living here is easy on your wallet as well. Living in Cave Creek, AZ
Hohokam Native Americans had been living in Cave Creek for many years before settlements were established in the area in 1870. Many early residents credit the formation of the town because of its ideal location beyond the north side of Black Mountain near many shady, grassy springs that are rare in the Sonoran Desert. The town quickly developed a successful commercial base in cattle ranching, and many people moved to Cave Creek in the early 20th century because of the beautiful sunshine and dry air that was thought to be good for lung ailments. Today, the town is home to more than 5,000 residents, according to 2010 data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
