  • Butcher and the Boar opened in 2012 and features homemade sausage, local beers and a year-round patio.

  • 112 Eatery has a specific claim to fame: foie gras meatballs. The chef is Isaac Becker, who features cauliflower fritters and veal tongue on his menu.

  • You should also check out The Bachelor Farmer for seasonal fare.

Whittier

Whittier is just south of downtown and is an urban and residential area. It is home to “Eat Street,” formally called Nicollet Avenue, that houses Asian fusion, Greek, Middle Eastern, German, American, Mexican and African cuisine options, among others.

Northeast

You can also find a wealth of restaurants in the Northeast neighborhood. It’s a popular area because it is right on the riverfront. Rotisserie has pub food and southern barbecue. The Anchor Fish and Chips features typical English and Irish fare. If you’re in the mood for Greek or Mediterranean food, head to Holy Land.

The food offerings don’t end there—you can get traditional diner food at the Modern Cafe, or Japanese food at Masu Sushi and Robata. For Thai cuisine, head to Karta Thai, and for fresh baked goods, pay a visit to Sara Jane’s Bakery. There is a range of seasonal food-related events throughout the year in the Northeast neighborhood, so stay informed to check them all out.
