November 18, 2013 | Best Cities, Best Cities and Neighborhoods

There are a lot of sports teams to keep up with if you live in Dallas. You have the Mavericks, the Cowboys and the Dallas Stars. While you can certainly catch the games from your Dallas apartment, there’s nothing better than sitting down in front of a huge TV at your local sports bar with a group of friends in one of the Top Cities for Sports Fans. So whether you’re interested in football, basketball or hockey, head to any of these amazing Dallas sports bars to watch:

Christies

If you’re wondering what’s the secret behind a great sports bar, it’s cheap beer and wings. This simple formula is something Christies has been operating by for more than 20 years. Choose between 18 beers on tap and 36 bottled varieties. Also, you certainly won’t be short on TVs–there are 43 in the Uptown establishment keeping you up-to-date on the latest scores and most popular games. During halftime, challenge your friends to a game of pool.

The Franchise Grill & Bar

The tricky thing about watching the big game at bars is that it’s often hard to hear. But this certainly isn’t an issue at The Franchise Grill & Bar. Every table has its own speakers to play the sound for the game or event of each guest’s choice. How cool is that? There are also 26 TVs, more than 25 beers and a full selection of spirits. The bar subscribes to many of the major professional and college sports broadcasts, so if you’re wondering if it’s airing a particular game, chances are, you’re in luck.

Katy Trail Ice House

Located in Uptown, this sports bar is a beer garden and restaurant that boasts one of the best patios in Dallas. Head up to the 50-foot long bar which offers 50 beers on tap ranging from Texas domestic brews to imported and regional varieties. This is certainly a famous location, having been featured on UrbanDaddy, DailyCandy, Style Network’s “Big Rich Texas” and The Dallas Morning News. If you’re a recent post-grad, this is the place to be. It has a Greek-life atmosphere that certainly brings back the nostalgic memories of your college days.

Trinity Hall

This sports bar is an Irish pub in Mockingbird Station and is famous for its attention to detail. This is where you can come to watch soccer and Gaelic football while having a Guinness with your buddies. You can enjoy three projectors and several TVs, as well as 16 beers on tap, plus 250 in bottles and cans.

Lakewood’s 1st & 10

With a name like that, you can be sure it’s a popular destination to watch the biggest games. It has a fully stocked bar with more than 35 different types of beer available. While you’re there, check out the bar’s menu of specialty shots to celebrate your team’s victory. In August 2010, Lakewood’s 1st and 10 was named best sports bar by D Magazine.
