Before you book your flight and pack up the moving van, however, it’s important to choose from Orlando neighborhoods to find the best one for you and your loved ones. Here are a few outstanding family-friendly neighborhoods located in Orlando:

Eola Heights

This beautiful Orlando neighborhood combines history with modern architecture for a perfect mix of old and new. It’s within walking distance of Downtown Orlando and Lake Eola Park, where you and your kids can enjoy picnics, nature walks or swan boat rides on the lake. The park also has a playground for children so they can enjoy the fresh air and stay active.

If you need to go back-to-school shopping for your little ones, there are plenty of shopping opportunities nearby. Visit the Orlando Fashion Square which has stores like JCPenney, Dillard’s and Macy’s. Living in Eola Heights also puts you and your family within close distance of schools such as Lake Eola Charter School and Trinity Lutheran School. You’ll always feel at ease with the Orlando Regional Medical Center less than five minutes away.

Thornton Park

Of all the Orlando neighborhoods, this is likely the most stylish. The area boasts rustic brick-lined streets, along with a number of European restaurants and plenty of fashion boutiques. The Thornton Park District is located right in the heart of Downtown Orlando, giving you and your family access to plenty of dining and shopping opportunities, along with lots of attractions.

When it come time to enroll your children in school, there are two school districts nearby: Both Orange County Public Schools and Polk County Public Schools will give your little one a quality education. When they’re not in school, take the kids to Disney World, which is just a 25-minute car ride away.

South Eola District

This Orlando neighborhood is filled with everything from dining and entertainment to serene residential areas and picturesque settings, making it an ideal spot to settle down with your family. The South Eola District is extremely walkable, with a walk score of 90. In fact, it’s the most walkable neighborhood in all of Orlando.

The neighborhood is also home to the Orlando Farmers Market, where you can choose from fresh produce, baked goods, plants and gifts to take home to your loved ones.
