Holiday Card Ideas for You and Your Pets

December 3, 2013 | Apartment Lifestyle, Pet Friendly Advice

Your pets are a part of your family. They keep you company and know when you just want to snuggle. So when you greet your friends and family this season with a holiday card, why not include your furbabies? Set up your camera and grab some supplies to take your pet photo. Here are some cute pet holiday card ideas:

1. The Perfect Photo

You’ll be hard-pressed to find something cuter than a dog wearing a Santa hat or a cat sitting inside of a Christmas tree. Gather all the holiday decorations you can find and play around with different outfits and backdrops for your pet photo.

Set the timer on your camera so that you can join the shot. This is especially helpful if your pet doesn’t feel like holding still for a solo photo shoot.

Don’t forget to keep treats on hand to reward your pet when it behaves well during the shoot!

2. Choose a Phrase

Now that you’ve taken the perfect holiday pet photo, you’ll need an appropriate greeting phrase. Choose wording that can be replaced with key pet words like paws or tails. For example, a holiday card might say, “Have a Pawsitively Happy Holiday.” Get creative and give yourself time to brainstorm. These will all be a little silly, but that’s why they’re so heartwarming.

3. Create Your Holiday Card

If you don’t exactly have design skills, don’t worry! There are tons of websites you can use to design your holiday card that make it really easy. Try online services like Snapfish or Shutterfly, or you can head to your local pharmacy.
