Texas gets a reputation for being a little bit country, but Dallas is a beautiful urban mecca of great entertainment, restaurants and nightlife that rivals many other large cities across the country.

The city is full of diverse neighborhoods and historic areas that are both pretty and a lot of fun to walk around in– and Dallas’ pleasant weather for most of the year makes walking around it’s neighborhoods pretty easy.

One of the best things about Dallas, though, is the shopping. The city has great streets and malls full of stores that make shopping in Dallas fun for even the most choosy fashionistas. Take a look at the best Dallas neighborhoods for fashionistas:

Lake Highlands

Lake Highlands is a neighborhood in the northeast part of Dallas that offers great restaurants, lovely homes and beautiful parks. It’s also where you’ll find the Shops at Park Lane and NorthPark Center, two of Dallas locals’ most favorite shopping malls.

Both malls are large and offer stores with varying prices, from the top designers to more inexpensive options. Both malls are full of shoppers, and they’re a great destination when the weather gets a little too hot or a bit too cold for walking around outdoors.

Uptown

Uptown is a popular spot for the 20-something fashionistas. The West Village area in particular is a trendy spot for Dallas shoppers, with its many shops and delicious restaurants that make spending a day in the neighborhood a breeze.

Head over to McKinney Ave., where you’ll find the highest concentration of shops, boutiques and restaurants in the area.

North Dallas

North Dallas is home to another of the area’s great shopping malls, called Galleria Dallas. Fashionistas of all ages flock to the mall’s hundreds of stores, which are a great mixture of chains and locally-owned boutiques.

The Galleria has even been recognized by USA Today as one of the best shopping destinations in the entire country, and with its gorgeous architecture, amazing variety, and great restaurants, it’s easy to see why. Other North Dallas shopping hot-spots include the Valley View and Prestonwood malls.

West End Historic District

Dallas’ West End Historic District is located in the downtown area, and it’s a cool, hip neighborhood with an interesting history that’s clearly shown in the old buildings lining the streets. In fact, it’s home to one of the city’s first trading posts.

Though the shopping isn’t as varied as it is in other neighborhoods, it’s still one of the best places to buy an authentic pair of cowboy boots in the city. Plus the area’s vibe will always make a trip there worth it.

Bishop Arts District

The Bishop Arts District is located in the southern part of Dallas in an area called Oak Cliff. The neighborhood’s great features include art galleries, cafes and locally-owned boutiques that fashionistas are sure to love.

The area is pretty small, but that makes it the perfect place to spend an afternoon walking up and down the streets, and looking through the various vintage, consignment, and handmade clothing shops.

Downtown

Like many other cities, Dallas’ Downtown neighborhood is more known for its offices, museums and art scene, but it does have one particular destination for fashionistas: the original Neiman Marcus department store. The mother of all high-end department stores, Neiman Marcus carries the top names in fashion design in all of its departments, from shoes to handbags to clothing.

Dallas has all of these shopping areas, and many more. Plus, if you want to spread out, check out one of the many malls, outlets, and shopping centers in the surrounding cities and towns, all of which are within easy driving distance!
