Foodies who are searching for apartments in San Diego neighborhoods will undoubtedly want to live near the best eateries this metropolis has to offer.

Whether you’re into five-star dining or can’t resist a good food truck, the best restaurants in San Diego are just around the corner when you live in these neighborhoods:

Del Mar

Located right on the coast, Del Mar is a foodie mecca. It’s the home of Addison, which was named one of the best restaurants in the city by San Diego Magazine in 2013. The five-star restaurant is located in The Grand Del Mar, and offers both four-course and eight-course menus. Also be sure to check out the Secret Pantry, which is a gourmet Peruvian market located on Camino Del Mar.

South Park

Located near the southern end of the massive Balboa Park (hence the neighborhood’s name), South Park has some incredible restaurants. Foodies rave about Alchemy, a bistro known for its craft cocktails and flavorful food. Chef Ricardo Heredia also puts together a to-die-for prix fixe menu every month. While you’re in the area, stop by The South Park Abbey, which is a neighborhood gathering place and has excellent eats.

Little Italy

As you might imagine, Little Italy is the place to live if you love Italian food. Locals suggest Prepkitchen Little Italy, which has a rockin’ happy hour and an exquisite tapas menu. Plus, the chefs work with seasonal and farm-to-table food. Neighborhood residents also flock to the Little Italy Mercato on Saturdays to sample cuisine from the massive assembly of vendors.

Bonita

You’ll find some great cheap eats in Bonita. TJ Oyster Bar is touted as one of the best seafood places in the city, and was founded decades ago by a man who immigrated to the U.S. from Tijuana, Mexico. Stop by this little hole in the wall for some of the best fish tacos in San Diego.

Liberty Station

If you love a good beer as much as you love food, you’ll definitely want to search for an apartment in Liberty Station, which is home to Stone Brewing Co. World Bistro and Gardens. Stone Brewing is a huge proponent of the slow food movement, and the ingredients for all of the dishes on the menu come from nearby organic farms. Sample this tasty fare as you knock back an artisanal beer. There are more than 100 varieties from which to choose.

Downtown

You thought we forgot about the food trucks, didn’t you? While you can find food trucks in many different San Diego neighborhoods, Downtown is absolutely packed with them. Instead of wandering around aimlessly trying to find your favorite food truck, download the San Diego Food Truck app, which will give you real-time updates on the location of the best food trucks in the city.
