Wine Cork DIY: Desktop Corkboard
Thanks to Pinterest, wine cork DIY projects have become very popular. As an avid wine drinker and a life-long crafter, I was immediately on board with this trend. I took an idea I had seen often (a corkboard) and gave it a little twist–making a desktop version with the back of an inexpensive frame. If you’re decorating on a budget, you can recreate this DIY corkboard with only a few supplies and a little time!
Cut the wine corks in half. I’m a little embarrassed that I didn’t think about this until I was halfway through gluing full corks. My board has 50 corks. That’s a lot of wine.
Take the back out of an inexpensive frame and paint it the color of your choice. Let it dry fully.
Glue the corks on the frame back. I used a 2 x 2 pattern. Let it dry fully with a heavy book on top of it.
If you’re like me and you prefer a little bling, glue rhinestones on the tops of push-pins.
Enjoy your beautiful wine cork DIY project! I finished mine off with a photo of my husband and me at a winery in Napa Valley.
It’s that easy, so go ahead and give it a try. Let me know how it goes and what you do to put your own spin on the wine cork desktop corkboard!
