Living in Adelanto, CA
Adelanto was founded in 1915 after E.H. Richardson, the inventor of the Hotpoint Electric Iron, purchased land in the area and made plans to develop a community for World World I veterans who were coming to the area for the clean air and beautiful weather. The city grew as an agricultural hub for orchards and groves, and the city was incorporated in the 1970s. Adelanto is one of San Bernardino Valley's smallest cities, so you can bet it is teeming with personality and charm. According to City-Data, you can also enjoy living in a community with neighbors from all walks of life, as it is an incredibly diverse area. Today, the city is home to more than 31,700 residents, according to 2010 information from the U.S. Census Bureau. It is clear that this is a family-friendly community, as more than 37 percent of the citizens here are 18 or younger.
