Approximately 18 percent of students in the district are English language learners, and the district specializes in enabling these students to keep up with grade-level academic standards.

Because of the open land available in Antioch, it is the site of new construction of housing developments, condominiums and apartment complexes designed to meet housing needs at affordable rates. In addition, the city funds a Rental Rehabilitation Program that provides loans for the renovation of existing apartment buildings. Antioch has more affordable units than most cities in the Bay Area, and the Contra Costa Housing Authority maintains properties in Antioch that offer assisted housing to low-income residents, as well as senior citizens. The Antioch Marina is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, and is one of the newest marinas in the San Francisco Bay area.
