Located just southeast of Los Angeles, Brea is one of the biggest little cities in North Orange County. Its 12 square miles are packed with excitement and culture that draws crowds throughout the county. This culturally diverse community is home to approximately 39,000 people who enjoy a mixed array of entertainment and lifestyle on par with much larger cities.
There are many reasons to live and play in Brea. Affordability, smaller crowds and location are but a few. Downtown Brea has become the location of choice for many who call this city home. Rents are modest relative to the lifestyle afforded those living downtown, and neighborhoods are within walking distance to some of the hottest nightlife the city has to offer.
Apartments in Downtown Brea rent from $1,100 to little more than $2,500 dollars per month. At this price you can enjoy the loft lifestyle in your own studio, one or two bedroom apartment. While hardly anyone in the OC utilizes the public transit system, there is one in place. The Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA) services downtown Brea and greater Orange County. It covers 10 different routes that transport commuters to major points south, east and west. Routes include two express buses that transport to the Irvine Business District via the 57 freeway. Most people choose to use their cars, which is why traffic is notoriously bad in SoCal. But the good thing about Downtown Brea is that once you get home, you can walk to all the best activities the city has to offer.
The Brea Olinda Unified School District is responsible for educating a modest population of nearly 6,000 students. Your child can attend one of six neighborhood elementary schools that have consistently received a “Great Schools” district rating 8 out of 10. Two intermediate and high schools complete the educational list and have garnered Blue Ribbon, California Distinguished and Title One Academic Achievement Awards. The district encourages parental involvement through “back to school” nights, open forums and regular communication to ensure academic success.
