Overview of Lincoln

Lincoln, Calif., is a prime choice for home and business owners who want to settle down in a quiet yet growing community. Individuals on the hunt for Lincoln apartments for rent will love the palm trees along the roads and the feeling of moving to a tight-knit, unique community.

Living in Lincoln, CA

Founded in 1859 after American railroad engineer Theodore Judah proposed the land to be part of the California Railroad System. The railroad system in the area was a major hub for those traveling through the area; however, over time investors drove business up to Yuba County, and Lincoln became a sleepy town. It wasn't until the mid-1900s when suburban developments in Sacramento increased and Lincoln emerged back on the map. According to Census data, the population of Lincoln climbed from 11,200 in 2000 to 42,800 by 2010, making it the fastest-growing community in the United States over the past decade.

Lincoln Attractions and Special Events

The spaces throughout Lincoln contain a rich history. There are a number of golf clubs, unique diners and community parks throughout Lincoln. Many of the restaurants, shops and small businesses throughout the community date back to the 1860 to 1900s and are constructed of Gladding McBean architectural terra cotta. Each May, the town hosts an annual ceramic show, Feats of Clay, which showcases the gorgeous ceramic work of artists. Wine lovers are a short distance away from 216 of the country's most loved vineyards within the Sacramento wine region, which also offer unique and fun events throughout the year. After the Thunder Mountain Casino opened in 2006, many residents have flocked there to relax or enjoy a night out with friends. Those looking for more family-oriented activities can also enjoy many community-related events in downtown Lincoln's Beerman's Plaza.
