Living in Menifee, CA

Originally home to the Luiseno and Pechanga Native American tribes, the area came under Spanish control in the 1700s. By 1850, California had officially become a U.S. state, and the Menifee area came under American control. The region was primarily agricultural throughout the 18th century. Mining came into the forefront of the local economy during the 1880s, when quartz was discovered by local miner Luther Menifee Wilson, for whom the city is now named. Actual development in the area didn't occur until after World War II. As more developments and subdivisions began to dot the countryside, the city's population grew. It was finally incorporated in 2008. Those searching for Menifee apartments for rent will love the city's modern California vibe.

Menifee Attractions and Special Events

Menifee residents enjoy access to a variety of recently built and well-maintained parks. Heritage, Aldergate, and Wheatfield parks all offer a variety of ball fields, picnic sites and open spaces. E.L. Pete Peterson Park is a dog-friendly space for four-legged family members. Other family-friendly spaces include Desert Green, Eldorado, Eller, La Paloma and Highland Court parks.

The Menifee Veterans Memorial is housed in Wheatfield Park, and serves as a lasting reminder of veterans' sacrifices and dedication. The memorial features a five-sided star representing each of the military branches, and is a great place to pay respects to all fallen heroes.
