      Living in Park Genesee was a not a good experience. They did nothing to fix the heater. The manager is really Read Morerude. No parking anywhere nearby and random company cars would park in our one assigned parking spot all the time. When we let the manager know it was a constant problem she told us to leave a note on the cars that park in our spot rather than finding a real solution. When we first moved here we saw that the pipe under kitchen sink was broken, it took them many months to come tape it and it constantly moved out of the socket. During our move they asked if we wanted them to clean the apartment it would cost us 130 dollars. During inspection the maintenance guy said everything looked okay. Days later we find out they will not return our 500 dollar deposit plus they want another 500 dollars because they had to change the carpet and paint the walls. They accused us of having a pet, which we did not.

      Park Genesee was conveniently located halfway between work and school. Parking is terrible except for the sin Read Moregle parking spot given to you with your rent. All maintenance was completed within 24 hours. Final walkthrough upon move out, after cleaning for 2 days (including a steam cleaner for all of the carpets) was charged $600 for carpet replacement and paint on walls. Paint company has no record of the apartment on file.

      There was a laundry room, but it closes around 8 or 9 which made doing laundry difficult since I got home from Read More school rather late.
      They take advantage of people who don't know the renters' laws of CA. Example, after I left and my unit was inspected, they kept ~$400 of my deposit to repaint the walls and change the carpet even after I cleaned the carpet and almost everything. There may have been screw holes in the wall, but that should be normal wear and tear since they were no more than 1/4 in.

      The location was great, close to work, shopping, freeways etc. The grounds were very well maintained and the c Read Moreommon areas were always clean, laundry facilities and park areas. The apartment itself was ok for one person, I lived in a 1bd 1ba, but pretty small all together. The one thing that I did not like was that the walls were very thin, I always heard my neighbors when they were home or going up or down the stairs that shared a common wall with my living room wall.

      I had no problem while a resident at Park Genesee but when attempting to recoup my deposit it was difficult to Read More retrieve. Had to contact their main office to advise I would be pursuing legal actions and had taken pictures of how I left the apartment. Their main office conceded that 3/4 of my deposit was owed to me.
