If you take a short walk across Embarcadero closer to the water, the panoramic view of San Francisco Bay scenes look like paintings from a postcard. On the waterfront you can feel the wind and soak up the soothing sound of lapping water. An occasional commercial ship or a ritzy yacht is often close enough to see. It's more common to see ferries and sailboats glide closer to the piers.

Baseball is the big attraction with crowds flocking to AT&T Park to cheer on their National League Team. Home to the San Francisco Giants, the stadium was built with a classic design with views of the Bay. If you're hungry, several bars and cafes are open for business after Giant's games. From formal restaurants to food stands, the area offers a variety of eateries. One of the hottest area attractions is the trendy nightclubs brings in a hip crowd from around the city.

Getting Around South Beach SF

Unlike some big cities sprawling out over a large area, San Francisco covers seven square miles. It's considered a highly walkable city. If you don't want the hassle of finding a parking spot or sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic, a car isn't a necessity. While many locals walk or bike to work, drivers can take the nearby Bay Bridge and conveniently hook up with major freeways. San Francisco's light rail system, MUNI, operates on Embarcadero while commuters can get on a BART train at a nearby station. A few blocks from South Beach, the Caltrain station on King St and 4th sends streetcars to their destinations.
