Our move to Scotchollow was a good experience with very little issues. Staff were helpful and understanding a Read Moret every point of the move in process. The grounds around the facilities are kept up, the appearance of the buildings is the first thing you see upon pulling in to the main office and for an older complex it is well kept. The apartments are big and spacious and with new paint and a newly remodeled kitchen look good as well. We had to place a work order a few days after moving in and it was taken care of the next day. All in all my wife and I think that Scotchollow will be a good experience.

Scotchollow Apartment Homes is poorly maintained. Our community mailbox has been tampered and broken into on n Read Moreumerous times and it was not promptly tended to. The stairwells are filthy and filled with cobwebs. The dumpsters with rotting trash and hundreds of foraging squirrels are located at the entry to every car port leaving an unpleasant stench. There doesn't seem to be enough maintenance staff to tend to all the individual apartment fix requests while maintaining a clean landscaped area because there always seems to be trash and/or pet feces around. Being in the center of both the SF tech and Silicon Valley, this establishment fails to meet with basic communication standards via email or sms regarding package arrivals. We have experienced 4 separate occasions of missing packages or unknown delivery of packages left at the front office. Unfortunately, it's even worse when it happens during the holidays and presents going missing. BUT they are very diligent in emailing when you must pay your rent! Upon moving in, the patio was a bonus feature that we loved about the apartment but quickly realized that we are unable to use it due to the gaps planks of the apartment above us. When they sweep leaves, dirt and debris... it falls through the 1 inch cracks straight below, leaving us with all their mess and dust! We, in turn, have to clean our patio furniture, never mind having guests or sitting on your deck when your upstairs neighbor decides to clean their patio at that time! Lastly, we moved in during winter and therefore, had to have the heater running occassionaly. This wasn't a problem until we noticed that due to the humidity, mold rapidly started growing on the ceiling and floors. They offer you a industrial size humidifier to borrow but keep in mind that you are paying for the electricity to use that huge humidifier. This is yet another inconvenience and dent in the wallet that adds up.
