It is also in close proximity to Orange County colleges and universities such as Chapman University, Concordia University and the University of California, Irvine.

Tustin Tiller Days has been a popular community event since 1957. The event pays tribute to Tustin's agricultural heritage and features a parade, carnival rides, food and entertainment. Local nonprofit groups also use the event to raise funds for community programs.

The Tustin Street Fair & Cook Off features a popular chili cook-off along with nonprofit food vendors and family-oriented entertainment. Tustin residents also enjoy the tradition of the annual Promenade Home & Garden Tour, which is a fundraiser held to benefit the Tustin Area Historical Society & Museum. The event includes a tour of Tustin's historic homes, an antique appraisal booth and tree walk.
