Union City Attractions and Special Events
The Union City Flight 93 Memorial is a powerful tribute to the heroes who died aboard United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2011. Flight 93 was headed to the Bay Area when terrorists hijacked the plane to target the nation’s capital. Passengers on board confronted the terrorists and the plane crashed in Pennsylvania, killing all aboard. The memorial consists of 40 stones, each representing a passenger and crew member, along a walkway from the “Circle of Remembrance.”
Local history is preserved in the Union City Historical Museum. The museum identifies and encourages preservation of historical architecture, and has a collection of artifacts, historical documents and historical books on display for residents and visitors to enjoy.
