Denver Apartments & Cost of Living

Colorado has a lot of expensive, touristy ski towns and another major city, Boulder. We mention this because in comparison to these areas, the cost of living in Denver is below average for both Colorado and national standards. While this is obviously good news for anyone moving to Denver, that’s not to say making rent is a walk in the park. Apartments in Denver vary in price depending on how far away from Downtown you get. For instance a one bedroom apartment in CBD averages at about $1,100 a month, but a one bedroom in suburbs like Southeast will only be about $600. Generally other costs like gas and groceries are mid-range or resting right at the national average, but one thing to keep in mind that is area specific if heating bills in the winter. While Denver doesn’t often experience weather that is too harsh, you will be paying to heat your apartment for quite a few months, so it’s always good to look for an electric system or budget for the extra gas.
