Denver CO Cityscape

Overview of Curtis Park, CO:

Curtis Park is a neighborhood in Denver filled with historic homes, museums, and small-town charm. But it hasn’t always been this way. As one of the earliest communities in Denver, Curtis Park has undergone an almost complete transformation from its project past into one of the most up-and-coming neighborhoods in the city. In terms of housing, many of the neighborhoods homes have been restored, while buildings that were not well-maintained have become new construction housing. With its affordable rent, myriad options for nearby fun, and easy commute into Downtown, Curtis Park is perfect for recent grads, young professionals, and families alike. Located just one mile north of the center of the mile high city, Curtis Park is the perfect neighborhood for escaping the big city without being out of reach from the core of Denver.

Curtis Park Apartments & Rental Market

With a tendency of being more affordable than their Downtown Denver counterparts, most studios and one bedroom apartments in Curtis Park offer units between $1000 and $1500 per month. If you’re in need of a little more space for your family or roommates, there are some two bedroom apartments that are listed just under $1500, but most are around the $1600-$1900 range. Three bedrooms can be as much as $3500 per month, but they typically average $2500-$3000.

Most places for rent offer a special on the deposit or the first month's rent so make sure you ask for current move-in specials when inquiring (after all, it never hurts to ask!) There are several amenities that are common in this area including washer and dryers in the unit, ceiling fans and/or air conditioning, hardwood floors, balconies, and dishwashers. But what you really want to know about is the fun stuff. Several Curtis Park apartments offer amenities like swimming pools, clubhouses, parks, and fitness centers that renters have access to daily.

Dining & Entertainment in Curtis Park

If you like comfort food and classic cocktails, you’re definitely in the right place. While Curtis Park may be small, it doesn’t have quite a few restaurants and bars to choose from, especially on and around Larimer Street. People looking to rent in this area have access to local favorites like Purple Door Coffee, Jonesy’s EatBar, and Horseshoe Lounge. Curtis Park also has a strong Hispanic influence with restaurants, shops, and bars that showcase traditional Mexican dishes, clothing, and decor.

Colorado has always been a haven for people who enjoy extreme and outdoor sports. Even though Curtis Park is within the city limits, people keep fit in the many fitness centers, recreational facilities, and outdoor sporting arenas the neighborhood provides. If you’re looking to go on an educational outing, Curtis Park has a lot of historical sites to view including the Black American West Historical Museum, Byers-Evans House Museum, and the Denver Museum of Natural History. You can also learn a little about politics with a visit to the Colorado State Capitol and the United States Mint.

Pet Friendly Apartments, Stores, & Resources

Several Curtis Park apartments allow pets so finding a home that fits you and your pets shouldn’t be a problem. The two main pet stores in the area are Raw Pawz Pet Deli and Prska's Pet Care LLC, plus Lucie's Friends Dog Walking Service offers an established pet walking service for Curtis Park so pet owners can make sure furry family members are cared for in their absence. Another great place for dogs is the Benedict Park Place Dog Park. This park gives you plenty of room to exercise your dog and find plenty of other dogs for them to play with.
