Northeast Lifestyle and Entertainment
Northeast Denver encompasses many individual neighborhoods in the area north and east of Denver’s downtown. Among the more well known are Cherry Creek, Green Valley Ranch and Northeast Park Hill. The other shopping and dining district, Cherry Creek North, is a 16-block area with more than 320 upscale restaurants, galleries, boutiques, spas and more.
A major outdoor attraction in this area is the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. Once the site for war time chemical weapons manufacturing, today this 15,000 acre prairie is now a wildlife sanctuary. Many tout it as an example of conservation success, and today it is one of the largest urban refuges in the country. There are miles of trails, wildlife viewing, fishing, and public tours of this refuge for more than 300 animal species.
Another local favorite is Hammond’s Candies Factory Tour.
