Southeast Lifestyle and Entertainment

The area includes a healthy mix of people of all ages, but in general, the neighborhood is most popular with people aged 25-40, many single. Families with children make up a relatively small percent of the residents in Southeast.

Development in the Southeast suburbs began in the 1930s and continued briskly into the 1970s. Although new housing, both single family and multi-residential, continues even today. These well-established residential areas offer quiet tree-lined streets and ample open spaces for outdoor recreation. Yet, the commercial boulevards boast a wide array of coffee houses, restaurants and shopping. Of course, as part of the beer capital of the west, there are plenty of pubs, bars and sports bars for hoisting a pint with friends.

Southeast is traversed by both the 40-mile Cherry Creek Trail and the High Line Canal. Residents enjoy these scenic trails for hiking, walking, jogging, biking, roller-blading and more. Cherry Creek State Park anchors the south end of the community. Known as Denver’s backyard playground, the park offers myriad outdoor options, including water sports on the lake, camping, sledding, snowshoeing and more.
