Union Station serves as a hub for RTD (Rapid Transportation District.) While some residents commute on the light rail system or ride the bus, many work in the area. Over 10,000 workers are employed in healthcare at a medical complex with three hospitals located in Uptown.

Uptown Denver Schools & Education

School District Number 1 serves Uptown and surrounding communities. The public schools are rated above average with an 18:1 student teacher ratio. Several elementary schools are scattered throughout the area. West High School, South High School, and Cole Middle School are a few of the area schools. A K-12 expedentiary school and several charter schools are also available. Community College of Denver and the University of Colorado of Denver are located in the Uptown neighborhood.
