As a pioneer and industry leader in pay-for-performance advertising, Rent.com is dedicated to helping property managers fill their rental vacancies in a quick, cost-effective manner. With Rent.com, you pay for residents, not prospects. Through the Pay-Per-Lease Program, properties with 20 or more units pay nothing to advertise on the site and only pay a success fee only when Rent.com helps fill their vacancy. With verified leases and trackable results, measuring return on investment is easy.
Rent.com also provides a convenient, self-serve Pay-Per-Listing program for managers of properties with 1-19 units including single-family homes, condos and apartment complexes. For a simple flat monthly fee, Rent.com provides a high quality listing, unlimited leads, tracking tools and no long term commitment—you pay to list only when you have a vacancy to fill.
Whether you’re a renter or a property manager, you can find your best match on Rent.com, where renting has its rewards.
In April 2000, founders Scott Ingraham and Allan Hunter launched what is now the Rent.com site as Viva.com, with headquarters in Santa Monica, CA. By November 2000, Viva Group, Inc. had raised $17 million in funding, led by seven of the largest apartment real estate investment trusts.
The following May, the Rent.com domain name was purchased, and in October 2001, the site was launched as Rent.com. Ten months later, the company turned cash flow positive.
By October 2004, Rent.com was the most visited national ILS and was acquired by eBay. The eBay acquisition of Rent.com was effective in February 2005 and by that summer the site had reached 3.5 million unique visitors per month. In March 2012, Rentpath, Inc., a leading vertical search company in the rental sector, entered into an agreement with eBay Inc. to acquire Rent.com and the acquisition was completed in May.
To date, Rent.com has delivered nearly two million $100 Rent.com Visa® Reward Cards.
