I'm being emailed listings for the wrong neighborhood. How can I change that?
To help you find your next home, we email you property listings based on the city you searched most recently on our site. If you'd like to receive listings for a different city, simply start a new search for rental properties in the new city you're interested in.
How do I unsubscribe from Rent.com email?
To unsubscribe, simply edit your email preferences.
How do I sign in to an existing Rent.com account?
To sign in to your existing Rent.com account, just click "Sign In" on the Rent.com home page. You'll be asked to enter your email address and Rent.com password, and then you'll arrive at your personalized "My Rent.com" page. Once you sign in to your Rent.com account, you usually won't need to sign in again — unless you "Sign Out" or use a different computer.
Why do I have to give my email address to use Rent.com?
We ask for your email address so that we can set up your account and personalize your experience. This information also helps us ensure that the properties you contact through our site can easily respond to you with more information.
We occasionally email you property listings based on your search. We also send you reminders to tell us if you're moving to a property featuring our $100 Visa®Reward Card, so you can claim your Reward Card from us.
What if I'm not finding properties when I search?
If you're finding that no properties match your search, it's possible that you're being too specific with your search criteria and the exact combination of features you're looking for can't be found among our advertised properties. We suggest that you start with broader search criteria and narrow your choices from there.
Why doesn't Rent.com have property listings in my search area?
We feature properties in most major rental markets nationwide. However, we may not have properties in all regions. We apologize if we do not yet have property listings for the area you're searching. Please check back with us regularly, as we add listings in new areas all the time.
How can I communicate with properties that interest me?
When you sign up for your Rent.com account, you have access to each property's contact information (toll-free phone number and street address). You can also email the property manager directly through our site by clicking "Check Availability" on the property's full-page advertisement.
Why isn't the property responding to my inquiry?
Rent.com does not own or manage any of the properties on our website and therefore unable to predict the response times of each property. For a faster response, we recommend that you call the property directly at the number posted on their listing.
How do ratings and reviews work?
Rent.com sends out a resident satisfaction survey to certified residents, which contains various questions about the property and allows the certified resident to leave a written review. Once a review is received, a third party moderation service reviews it for profanity and other inappropriate content. If the review passes this moderation, the property manager has the ability to respond. We have installed this thorough process because it is our goal at Rent.com to give you reliable and credible information in your search.
What is a certified resident?
Certified residents are verified to have signed a lease with the property and were sent a $100 Visa Reward Card for reporting the lease to Rent.com. Only certified residents are able fill out a resident satisfaction survey for a property on Rent.com.
