Orange Park is home to one of Fortis College's multiple campuses. This two-year school provides students with the opportunity to earn an associate's degree, or transfer their credits to a four-year university. Another school that has a campus in Orange Park is St. Johns River State College. Aside from associate's degrees, the school also offers a few baccalaureate degree programs.

Because Orange Park is just a few miles from Jacksonville, it is easy for residents to commute to jobs in the city. Some of the large employers in the area include the Navy Air Station Jacksonville, Baptist Health, Citi Bank, Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Mayo Clinic.

Data from the U.S. Census Bureau indicates that monthly rents for apartments in Orange Park typically range between $700 and $900. The same source revealed that the median gross rent in the town was $783 per month. Orange Park's affordable rental prices and close proximity to Jacksonville make it the ideal option for people who want convenient access to big city amenities without actually having to live in a metropolitan area.

Jacksonville is a short journey away for Orange Park residents, so a day trip or a night out are always options. Try a new restaurant or bar with a significant other, head to a Jacksonville Jaguars football game with the family or enjoy a day at one of Jacksonville's many museums with new friends. Leaving Orange Park for a while will make residents appreciate its small town charms when they head home.

Orange Park residents can enjoy themselves at Clarke House Park, which has earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. The home was built more than 100 years ago and was the home of the Clarke family, who grew pecans in the area and ran a local plumbing and mechanical business. The site is open to the public and features a playground for kids, trails, gardens and pavilions.

Every year, residents get together to celebrate the Orange Park Fall Festival. This free event features food and entertainment, and locals can socialize with friends and neighbors at the annual gathering. The festival also features craft booths and local vendors displaying their goods.
