Up along and over the northern edge of Atlanta, you’ll find the quiet community of High Point. Homes in this area fall on either side of High Point Road, a thoroughfare running north-south between Interstate 285 and North Buckhead. This neighborhood keeps a low profile, offering residents well-spaced single-family homes, peaceful apartments, and quiet streets. The southern tip of High Point falls within incorporated Atlanta, but most of the community is part of Sandy Springs.
High Point Lifestyle and Entertainment
The commercial strip in High Point hugs the neighborhood’s eastern and northern border. Along Roswell Road and Glenridge Drive, you’ll get restaurants, pharmacies, a grocery store, coffee shops, and some assorted retail businesses. There’s not much in the way of nightlife here, but you aren’t far from Buckhead entertainments. Ridgeview Park is the biggest green space in the area. There you’ll have access to nature trails, a picnic pavilion, and a playground.

Most of the rentals in High Point are single-family homes, but you can also find apartments and townhomes here. Parts of this area are being actively developed, so some units are new. The median rent in High Point in 2009 was $1,282.
High Point commuters will likely depend on their own cars. Georgia State Route 400 cuts through the middle of the neighborhood and that will take you down to I-85. There are a couple of bus routes that run along Glenridge and Roswell, but that’s it for public transportation.
