U-Rescue Villa, Atlanta, GA
Living in U-Rescue Villa
Found in the northern part of the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood, U-Rescue Villa apartments have an industrial, artistic vibe. Around here, you’ll find bright murals, an active arts scene, and gritty culture. This is one of the oldest parts of Atlanta. It’s run down in places, but that just makes it more popular with urban adventurers (and daring developers). If you want a place with tons of potential, come check out U-Rescue Villa. This near Downtown location is on the upswing. U-Rescue Villa is named for a public housing complex that used to stand in these blocks. It was built in 1970 but demolished a few years back. The odd name came from a neighborhood group which helped push for the public housing—"Urban Renewal Emergency: Stop, Consider, Understand, Evaluate" or “U-Rescue” for short. Today, the neighborhood fluctuates between artist’s haunts and less savory blocks. Transition is the name of the game in U-Rescue Villa.
U-Rescue Villa Lifestyle and Entertainment
You’ll find some surprisingly interesting eateries in this part of Atlanta. Check out the new American cuisine at 4th & Swift or the DJs at the Sound Table, further south. There are also lower budget options around. The Old Fourth Ward has some odd bars and clubs, too. For example, try Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium. If you’re looking for shopping, you’ll likely want to head to nearby Downtown stores.
or an urban area, U-Rescue Villa has a lot of community parks. The largest, Central Park, offers basketball courts, tennis courts, an athletic field, and a recreation center.
