The city is known for its popular community gatherings, some of the most popular being the Azalea Storytelling Festival held annually and the Hydrangea Festival, a three-day event held every summer that honors this popular southern bloom. Teaming up with the American Hydrangea Society, the festival is complete with an old-fashioned garden party, wine tastings, fresh food vendors, French cuisine, a cycling race, a live musical concert and many family-friendly events.
