Brewton-Parker College, a private Christian school, also has a campus in Newnan, which offers a variety of degree programs.

Those who hope to find work in Newnan should note that the city's largest employers include companies such as Wal-Mart, K Mart, PetSmart, Cargill Meat Solutions, Bonnell Aluminum and Georgia Power. The public sector also employs quite a few residents, with Coweta County and the Coweta County Board of Education at the top of the list of primary employers in Newnan.

The Newnan Theatre Company, which has operated for more than 30 years, entertains both adults and children throughout the year. They even host a summer drama camp to get the community involved in the acting scene. The Centre for Performing and Visual Arts is another way residents can experience the culture in Newnan. The facility often features live performances by theater and musical groups as well as art exhibits.

Newnan regularly hosts community activities for residents of all ages to enjoy. Market Day is held once a month and attendees can purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables, homemade baked goods and a variety of other unique products. Musicians are regularly invited to participate in Pickin' on the Square, an event in which all musically inclined residents are welcome to put on a show at the local courthouse.
