The Wheatlands!

      We have lived here for almost 3 years. Although it's a little overpriced compared to other apartments, we were Read More happy most of the time until the bad experience we had with Kristen(the manager of leasing office) ruined it all.

      Our lease expires in March next year but we planed to move out in September this year. We never thought there was any concern for early termination because sublease has always been an option(that is actually how we got our apartment 3 years ago). Demand here is very strong and we are confident to sublease our apartment pretty quick. Until 1 week ago we went to the leasing office and the management office informed that sublease was not an option any more. They canceled the option of sublease 6 months ago without any notification. We had to pay 2 months' rent as the early termination penalty, which significantly worsen our financial situation.

      Early this year we were very happy and grateful to find out my wife's pregnancy and we bought a house to have more space for the baby. Under the assumption that we can sublease the apartment, we put most of our money as the down payment of the mortgage, and still carry a huge debt.

      We would have postponed the purchase of a house to next year had we known the sublease is no longer an option. But they never informed anyone the change. A few tenants experienced the same problem. Although the leasing office may never break the law, it couldn't be a worse experience. Kristen told us in person that they were not obligated to inform any tenants regarding this change. That may be true legally, but don't they care about their customers at all?

      I encourage any other tenants who experienced the same issue to post their story here so potential customers can adjust their exceptions.

      Do expect a better amenities for the price paid for rentals. Parking is a big issue and given the size of comm Read Moreunity playing area for kids and related options are very limited. Virtually none option to park bicycle and taking that in and out of apartment for every use especially for someone staying on 1 and 2nd floor is terrible. parking overall also is an issue as there's no marking for the blocks or stickers on the cars and coming late night and looking for parking is a huge challenge.

      Great staff! Been here over 6 yrs and never had a problem with anyone in the office/maintenance (fast service Read More & know what to do to fix things). It's a nice place with nice neighbors for the most part. Kids playing in the area between buildings gets really loud and I can't open my patio door all spring-fall with them out there or can't hear anything else. They ought to play away from the buildings or over by the playground. That's why good instead of excellent.

      I just love it. Is quiet and the apartment is in great condition. The office personnel is very kind and friend Read Morely. If there's something that needs to be fixed it gets done promptly.

      As with any rental there will be issues and the difference is how these are handled. Most are handled with rou Read Moretine effort, yet some routine issues seem to challenge the staff. The facility is over 20 years old and needs improvements that should be made prior to breakdown. I would expect better common area upkeep for luxury apartments that cost a little under $2000.
