Overview of Chicago

Bronzeville Chicago is known as the Black Metropolis due to its historical African American heritage. Located on the South Side of Chicago, the community was home to many iconic African-Americans such as Louis Armstrong, Richard Wright, Gwendolyn Brooks and more. Throughout history, this area was known for major struggles related to crime, economics, and housing. Today, the community is in the revitalization stages and is beginning to see older restaurants thrive and newer businesses open back up. The entire area is approximately 1.6 square miles, therefore, it is not too big and you could easily get to know your neighbors in this historical center.

Bronzeville Chicago Apartments & Rentals

The average rent for apartments in Bronzeville Chicago ranges from $800-$1200 per month. With the revitalization efforts that are taking place, this rent could see a change in the near future. Currently, that price for rent would not cover utilities with the exception of potentially water and sewage but that is beginning to change as well. New condos are being built in the area, and are including two and three bedrooms around 1200 square footage. The rental market for Bronzeville Chicago apartments and condos will change drastically over the next few years.

Dining & Entertainment in Bronzeville Chicago

With multiple attractions that highlight the community and all it has to offer, there is always somewhere to go in Bronzeville Chicago. However, before you can officially call this place your new home, you must have a bite to eat at Rosscoe's, also known as Chicago's Home of Chicken and Waffles on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

As far as things to do in Bronzeville Chicago, you can do anything from relaxing on 31st Street Beach to taking an art district trolley tour. You can visit the Harold Washington Cultural center or take a walk in Washington park. The DuSable Museum of African-American history is another classic attraction in this community. Major landmarks can be found within each step of Bronzeville Chicago, leaving you with something to experience every step of the way.

Transportation is not an issue at all in a major metropolitan area such as Chicago. When looking specifically at the public transportation in Bronzeville Chicago, the L train is a major commuter benefit. In addition, there are multiple ways to get in and out of the area, including by car as there are surprisingly many free on street parking spaces available. Pet Friendly Bronzeville Chicago Apartments

Depending on the type of pet you have, this may or may not be the best area to bring your little addition to the family. The community has one animal clinic in the immediate area.
