Rogers Park is a good place to track down some affordable housing. Rental options here range from smaller apartments in big, cheap buildings to single-family homes on quiet streets. You can find luxury condos in high-rises, too. The average two-bedroom here rents for $1,212 a month.

While parking may be hard in Rogers Park, public transportation is easy to find. There are four stations where you can catch Red Line trains on the ‘L.’ These stops are among the first on the line, which means you can probably score a seat. Metra commuter rail trains stop at Rogers Park station, too. Buses run on Chicago Avenue and others. Rogers Park is a good ways from the Loop and the South Side, so your commute may take some time.

Rogers Park falls within two Chicago City Council wards—the 40th and the 49th. Within the area, you’ll find the Rogers Park branch of the Chicago Public Library. Loyola University of Chicago is in Rogers Park. There is a United States Post Office on West Devon Avenue.
