Overview of Inner Harbor

Locations become tourist destinations because they have a lot to offer. Events, museums, shopping, dining, and beauty attract visitors from all over the globe—so it’s no wonder these areas also attract renters. Residents of Inner Harbor Baltimore may not frequent the museums and shopping of the sightseers, but they do enjoy sweeping views of the harbor, an array of dining and nightlife options, and easy access to public transit. Packed with contemporary condos and renovated apartments, the Inner Harbor neighborhood is mostly home to recent graduates and professionals who work in the business district of Downtown Baltimore. If you desire to be in the middle of the action, or if you’re moving to Baltimore and really want to get a good idea of what it means to live in the city, Inner Harbor just might be the perfect spot for you.

Inner Harbor Apartments & Rentals

While rent in this neighborhood is generally pretty pricey, there are some options that are more affordable than others. For instance, a studio apartment in Inner Harbor can cost you about $1,000-$1,000 a month if you are in an older, renovated building; whereas some of the high-rise, waterfront apartment buildings have studios that cost within the $1,500 to $2,000 range. It really depends on what you want! If you’re looking for something that is charming and might not have all the latest features, there are apartments that will fit you perfectly. If you’re looking for the height of luxury and can float the bill that comes with those Baltimore harbor views, there are plenty of options available.

Dining & Entertainment in Inner Harbor

For the people that are willing to pay the price to live in Inner Harbor, the major perk is that you’ll be within walking distance to upscale shopping, Baltimore’s one and only “beach,” two sports stadiums, Federal Hill Park, and loads of delicious eateries. This neighborhood also caters to a variety of different nightlife. From live music to comedy, dancing to sports bars, you can do something different every weekend and still feel like you have more to see. Another entertainment-based attraction in Inner Harbor comes in the form of two 2-story pavilions that are known as Harborplace. This neighborhood gem contains a variety of shops and eateries as well as the Harborplace amphitheater, which is a hotspot for various concerts in the warm months.

While the above activities are probably the ones you’ll often partake in when living in Inner Harbor, there are also a ton of cultural and educational sights you can see this neighborhood. To name a few, the National Aquarium, Maryland Science Center, the Port Discovery Children's Museum, and the USS Constellation Museum are all major attractions in Inner Harbor.

Pet-Friendly Inner Harbor Apartments

All of our Inner Harbor apartment complexes currently offer units that allow both dogs and cats. The main task you have at hand is just checking for availability once you find the perfect place! We also wanted to mentioned that in the nearby neighborhood of Federal Hill, the respected CityPets Veterinary Care $ Wellness clinic will be happy to keep your pets healthy, while Doggie Style will provide them with the best haircuts in town!

Commuting From Inner Harbor

Good news for public transit users: Inner Harbor is one of the main transportation hubs in Baltimore. Multiple Charm City Circulator routes pass through the neighborhood, numerous MTA bus lines are available, plus several Light Rail & subway stops are located just a short walk from Inner Harbor. There is also a water taxi that connects Inner Harbor to Fells Point, Canton, and Fort McHenry.

When going about your daily business and errands, the average person can complete most of these on foot. If you are commuting out of the Downtown Baltimore area, Inner Harbor is located just off of I-95 which will easily take you both north and south of the harbor.

Inner Harbor Schools & Education

The amount of families with young children that live in the Downtown area of Baltimore, especially Inner Harbor, is very slim. There are myriad options for private, early education (mostly for those dropping their kids off before work), and there are also a handful of private schools options for students in the K-12 range. If you are planning to rent in Inner Harbor and have school-aged children you will definitely want to do some research and determine the best school for your child’s specific talents.
