The renewal rent increase is ridiculous. I have definitely enjoyed living here at Palette Arts District. The s Read Moretaff is very friendly, helpful and approachable. The amenities are great and the property overall is well maintained. I had every intention on renewing my lease however, I was told that my current rent would increase by $76 from $1535 to $1611 per month. My apartment has now been made available on the website and is currently listed for $1480 (15 month lease) and $1501 (12 month lease), a decrease of $55/$34 respectively. I do not understand why I would be charged a higher rent just to renew my lease. I am a good tenant and have always paid my rent on time. I keep a clean apartment and value the community here at Palette. Why am I not allowed to have my rent stay the same or have it adjusted to the prices that are currently listed on the website? You would think that it would valuable to keep good tenants and to show appreciation by not raising their rent. It's insulting to know that the next person in my apartment will be paying less than I have been for the past 15 months and I am not entitled to those prices being the current tenant. I have referred this building to a person who now resides on the 4th floor and I did not receive any type of reward for that as advertised. I relocated from Upstate NY and moved directly into this building. I planned on staying here for a few years as it was an easy transition and moving experience with the helpful staff. It's disheartening that these so called market rent prices or 'ownership recommendations' would be so unfair to great tenants who love the property.
