The Red Line light rail connects South Boston to the University of Massachusetts, Harvard, and MIT. If you’re traveling out of town, train access through Amtrak is available at several places in the neighborhood. There are even ferries that visitors, workers, and students can use to get to and from many locations in and around Boston. For those that do still prefer to be behind the wheel, highway 58 and highway 70 are your quickest routes in and out of South Boston.

South Boston Schools & Educational Options

There are many different public school districts that serve the neighborhood of South Boston, and the area you live in will dictate which zone you fall under. Boston Public School District serves the greatest area of the community, and the schools in South Boston are highly regarded by the community. There are also several private schools, charter schools, and Catholic schools to choose from. While the local schools are known for testing well and providing a great education, we always recommend talking to other parents and doing your research to find the school that is right for your little scholar.
