Overview of Boston Waterfront:

From most Boston neighborhoods, it’s impossible to see the water; and at times it’s easy to forget that the city has a harbor at all. Unless, of course, you decide to rent an apartment in the Boston Waterfront. While this neighborhood was formerly considered by Bostonian’s to be an out-of-the-way wasteland, the large abandoned warehouse space was exactly what the artist population was looking for. Fast-forward several years, and you’ll find that the Boston Waterfront is full of renovated spaces, lots of great art and food, and plenty of places to live. If you ask us: living by the water has never better. Waterfront Boston Apartments & Info: The days of cheap warehouse space are over in the Boston Waterfront neighborhood. Now, like any urban area with beautiful views of the bay, the cost of these chic spaces is comparable to other areas of Downtown. Most one bedroom Waterfront Boston apartments range from $2,000 to $3,000, while spacious two bedrooms max out around $5,000 a month. And while the price tag may be steep, you will definitely feel like you’re living in luxury. Sip coffee while looking out over the water from your personal balcony, stay in shape at the apartment’s on-site fitness center, or escape the summer heat at the pool. Dining & Attractions in Boston Waterfront: As you may or may not have noticed, food and craft beer have been really trendy over the past couple of years, and if you’re a fan of that trend then you’ll definitely be a fan of the Boston Waterfront neighborhood. Being as close as you are to the water, there is obviously a lot of fresh seafood to be found, such as Island Creek Oyster Bar and Legal’s Harborside. Indulge your sweet tooth at Flour Bakery, or have a refreshing cocktail from the knowledgeable bartenders at Whiskey Priest or one many other fine establishments in Waterfront. When it comes to entertainment, there is something for everyone. If you are looking for a family adventure, the New England Aquarium and the Museum of Science are enjoyable learning experience for all ages. There are also quite a few nearby options for shopping, and above all you’re just a train ride away from the activities of Downtown Boston.

Pet Friendly Waterfront Boston Apartments: If you have a furry family member, you certainly want to make sure that they have the basic necessities to accommodate them. Waterfront contains a couple pet supply stores including the big-box Petco and PetSmart that have all the food, treats, accessories, and services you need. There are also a few veterinarians in the neighborhood, such as Boston Veterinary Care, Charles Street Animal Clinic, and AAA Veterinary House Calls. While all of our Waterfront Boston apartments for rent have units that allow cats, you’ll have to check to make sure your breed and size of dog is allowed in the apartments that you’re interested in.

Commuting In & Around Boston, MA: We’re going to go out on a limb and say that as long as you are able to navigate public transit, there is really no need to own a car in Boston, especially if you live in Waterfront. Whether you want safe bike lanes, buses, light rail (that kind of seems like a bus?), or if you just want to walk and enjoy the beautiful views, living in Waterfront puts you close to all the public transit you could possibly need to get nearly anywhere in the city. Plus, if you want to take an out-of-town adventure, there are all sorts of rideshare and ZipCar programs to choose from!

Boston Waterfront Schools & Education: Because there aren’t a lot of families with kids that live in Downtown Boston (or Waterfront for that matter), there are not many schools in the neighborhood. There is a highly rated elementary school in North End called Eliot K-8 School, but when it comes to high school you’ll have to go a little further out if you have school-aged children. -By Kelly Renick
