Center Line, Mich., is located in Macomb County, which is one of the three counties that comprise the Detroit metropolitan area. This also allowed settlers to travel in and out of the community, and one trail that became the main road used by settlers is now Sherwood Avenue. The farming town led to the development of Center Line, but it didn’t happen quickly. By 1924, residents of the community wanted to make the area a better place to live, and a year later it became a charter. Twelve years later, Center Line became a city.
