Fenton apartments for rent are becoming increasingly popular as more people are realizing the potential for an ideal lifestyle in the community. Living in Fenton, MI

In 1834, Clark Dibble happened to stumble upon the White Lake Trail while he was traveling through the wilderness from Shiawassee to Grumlaw, now known as Grand Blanc. When he turned to the north he found a spot on the Shiawassee River where several Indian tribes lived together. Attracted to the beauty of the land, Dibble stayed in the area to examine the conditions of the land, and brought back several families with him to settle there. Named Dibbleville, the community consisted of only a small group of people, two small homes and a saw mill built along the riverside. After the land was platted in 1839, more settlers came to the area that was at the center of five well-traveled trails.

Legend has it that the name Fenton came from the winner of a card game in 1837. During the 1850s, the railroad reached Fenton, which was the last stop on the tracks. This allowed the community to prosper as a commercial and transportation center. By 1863, the village of Fenton was incorporated, and it became a city in 1909.

Today, the history lives on in the historical downtown center. The Shiawassee River flows over a dam and into the park in the center of town creating a true picturesque community.
