Overview of Haslett

Haslett is a small neighborhood in central Michigan, approximately nine miles east of Lansing and 58 miles northwest of Ann Arbor. The neighborhood is an unincorporated community inside of Meridian Charter Township, which is in Ingham County and considered part of the Lasing metropolitan area. The Haslett community was named after James Haslett, known for starting a Spiritualist camp in the area along the west shores of Lake Lansing. The lakefront has historically been a major draw to the area, and it remains a crystal clear haven that is well-stocked with various kinds of fish today. The shores are lined with large trees, yellow pine on the north and east shores, and hickory and oak on the north and west shores. Haslett is known for being a beautifully wooded residential suburb.

There is much to see and do in Haslett. Notable locations include the Lake o' the Hills Golf Course, Meridian Sun Golf Club and Haslett Library. The lakefront continues to contribute to making Haslett such a great place to live, and many residents and visitors head to Lake Lansing Park North for a day with nature and recreation.

A popular area attraction for prime shopping is the Haslett Village Square shopping center, known as a well-established 101,684-square-foot neighborhood shopping center located at the southwest corner of Haslett and Marsh roads.
