Madison Heights is the 14th largest community in Michigan, located within Oakland County. Ideally located in southeastern Michigan near two freeways, Madison Heights is an ideal place for an employer. The community also has big box stores like Best Buy, Costco, Target and Starbucks conveniently located throughout the city.

Due to the close proximity to downtown Detroit, many people commute downtown to school at institutes such as Wayne State University and Eastern Michigan University. Other schools like Oakland Community College and Davenport University are close to Madison Heights as well.

Since 1975, Madison Heights has hosted the Potters Market, an event that features roughly 135 artists offering 40,000 pieces of pottery. This event is the largest of its kind in the country and has a huge selection of pottery.

Most attractions around Madison Heights are located just outside the city limits, such as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival that attracts visitors from across the country. Other events such as Festival of the Arts, Autopalooza and Detroit’s Comerica City Fest happen each year.
