Located in Carver County, Chaska is tucked along the Minnesota River valley just 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis. After the expansion of Route 212 commutes were cut in half and new businesses began popping up all over town.

In 2009, Chaska was ranked as the 20th best place to live in America, according to CNN Money. The quaint downtown area features 19th century architecture and plenty of restaurant and shopping options. Places like Tommy’s Old Fashioned Malt Shop and Cuzzy’s Brick House are just two of the beloved dining options downtown. Chaska apartments for rent near downtown are surrounded by unique shops with homemade goods and locally brewed coffee shops. Since the early 1990s, Chaska’s population has nearly doubled from 11,500 residents to about 24,200 today, according to statistics by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Until the 1950s, Chaska was a small town. By the mid-1960s, the town began expanding and the Jonathan New Town design concept was introduced that created new jobs and new people to the area. Modern industries relocated to the area and new residential construction brought 300 to 400 new homes to Chaska every year. Today, commercial and residential areas continue to develop, but Chaska still remains small at heart.
