Overview of Circle Pines
Besides being named the country's 3rd Most Perfect Suburb by CNBC in 2011, there are plenty of reasons why Circle Pines is one of the best places in Minnesota to live. Here you can find an eclectic mix of affordable housing, excellent schools for the kids, low crime rates and unemployment and easy commute times to the nearby Twin Cities. This is the Land of 10,000 Lakes after all, so residents who live in Circle Pines apartments for rent can expect to enjoy a variety of fun recreational activities since the city is surrounded by beautiful bodies of water, including Baldwin Lake and Golden Lake. Circle Pines also has easy access to Interstate 35, making it the perfect location for commuting families.
Living in Circle Pines, MN
After spending a day swimming at Golden Lake in 1945, V.S. Petersen and two other collaborators had an idea to build a cooperative village. The logo for this project was a pine tree with a circle around it - hence the name. Although the cooperative only lasted three years, the community stayed - and thrived. Today, the city is a suburb of the Twin Cities, but it is very self-sufficient, even operating its own natural gas distribution and parks. Circle Pines is a very well-educated and prosperous community, according to City-Data. Their median household income and population has risen significantly over the years because of everything this charming hub has to offer.
Circle Pines Attractions and Special Events
In many ways, Golden Lake is the crowned jewel of Circle Pines, since it was the inspiration for the community so many years ago. This park offers a boat launch, fishing pier, swimming beach, two pavilions and three playgrounds for Circle Pines residents to enjoy, especially when the weather is warm.
