According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of Rosemount, Minn., was 21,874 in 2012. Rosemount's Leprechaun Days festival stems from its roots as an Irish settlement. This annual celebration began during the 1950s with the inception of the "Crazy Days" festival. Over time, parades and other events were added. The name was eventually changed to "Family Fun Days" and settled on an Irish theme for the celebration. By 1983, newly instated Leprechaun Days had grown into a week long celebration.
