Overview of Rosemount
According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of Rosemount, Minn., was 21,874 in 2012. Located about 25 miles south of both Minneapolis and St. Paul, this suburban city is home to numerous loyal and enthusiastic locals. Rosemount encompasses about 36 square miles of open, residential and retail space.
Before its incorporation, the village debated between the names Rosemount and Saratoga. Eventually, the name Rosemount won out because of the original settlers' Irish heritage, as a city in Ireland was also called Rosemount. The village was incorporated in 1876 when the local population was just 964 people. In modern times, Rosemount has expanded to become a suburban community of the Twin Cities metro. Those searching for Rosemount apartments for rent will appreciate the village's sense of community and easy access to regional highways and amenities.

Rosemount Attractions and Special Events
Rosemount's Leprechaun Days festival stems from its roots as an Irish settlement. This annual celebration began during the 1950s with the inception of the "Crazy Days" festival. Over time, parades and other events were added. The name was eventually changed to "Family Fun Days" and settled on an Irish theme for the celebration. By 1983, newly instated Leprechaun Days had grown into a week long celebration.
