Overview of Ridgeland

Ridgeland is one of the most decorated cities in the state in Mississippi. Located in Madison County, the award-winning, master-planned community incorporates beautiful green spaces and a quaint downtown center anyone can enjoy. Situated just north of the state’s capital, Ridgeland is an ideal spot for families who are looking to enjoy everything the city has to offer while living in a tight-knit community. Ridgeland is known for its fine dining, vibrant entertainment, historic significance, and abundant shopping.

According to statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau, the population has nearly doubled in the past two decades. Since 1990, the population went from 13,270 to roughly 24,500 residents today.

Living in Ridgeland, MS

In 1805, the Choctaw Indians were located on the Natchez Trace, which is still visible through the heart of the city today. By 1896, two Chicago realtors purchased the land in hopes of bringing more northern settlers to the region. Soon, many came and found the strawberry and pear crops to be plentiful. Ridgeland continued to grow well into the 20th century and is considered to be one of the fastest growing cities in the state today.

Residents in Ridgeland apartments and homes are offered a high quality life. Citizens find the community a very safe place to live with excellent education, recreation, housing, amenities and convenience.

Ridgeland Attractions and Special Events

Throughout the year, there is a diverse array of activities and events for residents. One of the events is KidFest, a two-weekend festival jam packed with family fun. In the past, attractions have included meet and greets with Nickelodeon characters, a sea lion show, comedic dog shows and many more goofy shows and activities. The city also hosts the annual Township Jazz Festival, which began in 2008 and featured top-notch jazz performances with dozens of local sponsors. The Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival is another beloved event, and was named among the Top 100 U.S. Art Fairs by Art Fair Sourcebook in 2011 and 2012.
