Living in Audubon, NJ

The area in which Audubon is located today was originally inhabited by the Lenni Lenape tribe of Native Americans, who were drawn to the region for its fertile land, diverse natural and heavily wooded settings and numerous streams feeding into the Delaware River, which provided reliable water sources. Audubon received its name after well-known naturalist John James Audubon, who documented the diverse birds in the area. Audubon was officially incorporated as a borough in 1905.

According to the borough website, Audubon has the distinction of being the "Most Patriotic Small Town in America," and many residents have received honor awards from the U.S. government. Residents also enjoy the community's premier athletic legacy, as many of the borough's high school sports programs have received national attention. Audubon prides itself on being a quiet neighborly town with family-focused values. The borough is consistently engaged in both volunteerism and the revitalization of its commercial district.
