The borough of New Providence is located in northeast New Jersey, approximately seven miles west of Union and 12 miles west of Newark. The town sits in Union County and is considered part of the Newark metropolitan area. The borough's website revealed that a majority of New Providence's residents have above-average salaries and work in professional, managerial and other executive positions in business or industry. The community enjoys a sparkling recreation system and an education system that is known to produce students with substantial academic achievements as well as excellence in athletics.

New Providence Attractions and Special Events

The borough provides its residents with three playgrounds, an ice-skating rink, eight ball fields and eight public tennis courts. There are also two Olympic-size pools available for everyone to enjoy. The Passaic River additionally provides the community with prime fishing spots.

The Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is a particularly popular area attraction, and it is one of more than 548 refuges in the National Wildlife Refuge System. Composed of approximately 7,600 acres of swamp woodland, this unique attraction is a must-see and do for all residents.
