The town of Westfield is located in northeastern New Jersey, approximately seven miles southwest of Union and 13 miles southwest of Newark. It is situated in Union County and considered part of the Newark metropolitan area. Westfield was first settled during the late 17th century, originally considered part of Elizabeth Township. The township of Westfield was formed in January 1794 and was officially incorporated on February 21, 1798.
