Bayport Attractions and Special Events

One of Bayport's historical sites, Meadow Croft, was the summer estate of John Ellis Roosevelt. The estate has been turned into a museum as one of Bayport's ongoing efforts to preserve history within the city. Families and tourists can visit the museum on Saturdays and Sundays, June through October, and upon request. Other events offered by the Bayport Heritage Association are Christmas at Meadow Croft, a historical boat cruise, a summer concert, and yard sale.

Bayport is also the home of the Aerodrome Society, a nonprofit organization that was formed in 1972. Society members are aviation professionals and those interested in preserving aviation history. Families can take tours of the Aerodrome and museum. Anyone with a passion for aviation is welcome to join and volunteer with projects.

One of the more quirky attractions tourists and locals can visit is a Sphinx, located on highway 72 in Bayport. The Sphinx is a Bayport landmark that allows travelers to stay in the comforts of their own state while seeing a unique artifact replica.
