The village of Honeoye Falls, N.Y., is situated in the northern region of the state, roughly 18 miles southeast of Rochester. It has a population of approximately 2,600, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau and is located in Monroe County. The village offers a serene setting on the banks of Honeoye Creek. The area was first inhabited by a large Seneca tribes population. It was settled in 1791 by a miller from Connecticut who harvested power from the falls for a grist mill. More people quickly flocked to the town, and the village was incorporated in 1838. Many structures sprouted up during the 1830s to 1890s in Greek Revival, Federal, Empire and Victorian style. Many of the original homes still exist in town today, earning the historical area a place on the National Register of Historic Places. The village is located in the town of Mendon.

Honeoye Falls has remained a quaint town but offers its residents many amenities. Residents enjoy access to the Mendon Public Library, three area hospitals, an Amtrak station and several institutes of higher education, including Monroe Community College and Rochester Institutes of Technology.
